Writing a reel takes me 10 minutes.
Editing it eats the whole evening: cutting dead air, typing captions, hunting for the right whoosh, nudging a clip three frames left.
This week I did all of it inside Claude Code.
Claude generated the presenter, Claude edited the reel, and I never opened another app.
I’ve written every step below so you can follow it even if you’ve never opened a terminal.
Gift inside: At the end of this issue, you’ll get my Reel Pipeline Kit: 40 copy-paste edit prompts for Claude Code, covering the cut, the voice, captions, visuals, sound, the hook, and the export.
Here is the video I created and edited with Claude… Watch it and rank it out of 10 in the comments…..
Look at its animation, sounds, and voiceover… all looks good enough like an editor did it…
How This Started
Last week, a video crossed my feed.
It claimed Claude had edited an entire viral Instagram Reel on its own, with 12 animations, captions, and 106 sound effects.
I was skeptical.
When I looked closer, the training guide that makes it work was locked inside a paid course.
So I went looking for a version anyone could run for free, and I found two.
The first is claude-youtube-editor, a free, open-source set of Claude Code skills that edits raw footage.
It does the cut, the captions, the animations, and the sound effects.
Every guide for it starts the same way, though: you record yourself talking.
I didn’t want to be on camera for this one.
The second solved that.
Higgsfield’s official skills for Claude Code let Claude generate images, voices, and video through your Higgsfield account, and they install with one command.
So I put them together.
Claude Code generated an AI In Public presenter, then edited that presenter as if it were real footage, all in the same terminal.
By the end of this issue, you’ll be able to publish branded reels without filming, without an editor, and without losing your evening to captions.
You write the script.
Claude Code handles the rest.
The Map Before We Start
There are 6 levels. Do them in order. Each one takes 5 to 20 minutes.
Level 0: Install Claude Code (one time)
Level 1: Set up your reel studio folder (one time)
Level 2: Brand it as AI In Public (one time)
Level 3: Generate the presenter
Level 4: Edit the reel
Level 5: Make reel two faster than reel one
You only do Levels 0 to 2 once. After that, every new reel is Levels 3 and 4.
You’ve seen the reel. Now get the pipeline that made it.
Below is the full step-by-step build, from a blank Mac to a finished, branded reel, plus the Reel Pipeline Kit with 40 edit prompts.
Upgrade and post your first reel this week.
